Notable Places in Turku
Turku Cathedral
Turku Cathedral impressed me with its beautiful architecture and welcoming atmosphere. But what truly struck me was their dedication to families. I've never seen a church with a designated space for kids before! They even have a 'pilgrimage center' for a more reflective experience. Turku Cathedral caters to all ages, making it a wonderful place to explore Finnish history and culture. There's also a museum inside the church that tells the story of Turku Cathedral and its surroundings. The entrance fee is 2 euros, but it's free with the Finland Museum Card (like we had!).
Turku City Library
Turku City Library (Turun kaupunginkirjasto) is your one-stop shop for knowledge, entertainment, and productivity! Browse books, magazines, and newspapers, or use their computers and Wi-Fi. Feeling social? Play board games with friends at their dedicated tables, or print and photocopy documents for your needs.
Turku Market Square Kauppatori
We have shopped here often and always enjoy the experience at Turku Market Square Kauppatori. The 1-euro fruits and veggies are incredibly affordable. There are also flower stores and bread shops, among others. They sell the healthiest and leafiest pechay I've ever seen. I love buying from and supporting them.
Turku Market Hall
This historic marketplace, open since 1896, is a feast for the senses. Explore stalls brimming with fresh, local produce, fragrant spices, delightful treats, and unique souvenirs. Engage in friendly conversations with vendors or enjoy a meal at one of the cozy cafes.
During my visit, I bought cheese, salami, pastries, dried fruits, and fresh fish. There's also a great selection of wine and other alcoholic beverages, vibrant flower bouquets, and refreshing fruit and veggie juices. The Turku Market Hall is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Finnish culture and fresh, local ingredients.
Metsäkirkko
A peaceful, very simple, and quiet forest church. It's a very easy and short hike to get there.

The architecture of this place is absolutely stunning. It's a must-see! As a bonus, it's included in the museums covered by our Museokortti. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting. The building itself is a work of art.

Entry costs 7 euros, but it's free with a museum card. The facility provides lockers, chairs, a wheelchair-accessible area, and a place to hang clothes and leave belongings. Every corner is picturesque, inspiring visitors to dress up in period costumes and take photos. The friendly staff and nearby café add to the charm, making it a place you’ll want to return to.
Turku Castle (entrance fee €14)
Steeped in history, Turku Castle, also known in Finnish as Turun linna and Swedish as Åbo slott, stands proudly as Finland's oldest surviving castle. As our first month in Finland meant no museum card yet, our Turku Castle adventure began with a reasonable entry fee. From the chilling story of Jordan's imprisonment to the grandeur of the King's Hall, the knowledgeable staff brought the castle's past to life. We even tried on some knightly garb – talk about an Instagram moment! Exploring the Queen's chambers and the eerie dungeon offered a glimpse into the castle's diverse roles. A few hours flew by as we explored, and we left with a newfound appreciation for Finland's captivating past. Highly recommend!

Rhododendron Park (Alppiruusupuisto) is actually located in Raisio, near Turku. The park offers a stunning display of rhododendrons and azaleas, and there is free entrance and parking available. Raisio's St. Martin's Cathedral (Raision Pyhän Martin kirkko) is one of Finland's oldest stone churches, dating back to around 1305. It offers free parking for church visitors for up to four hours. The church provides water for plants on the graves, which is a thoughtful touch reflecting the Finnish tradition of planting flowers on graves. While the church was closed during our visit, the serene atmosphere and well-maintained grounds made it a memorable stop.
Posankka
Posankka is indeed a unique sculpture in Turku, Finland, that combines elements of a pig and a duck. Created by artist Alvar Gullichsen, it symbolizes creativity and humor. Ruissalo Island
Ruissalo Island, or Ruissalon saari, is a picturesque getaway in Turku, Finland, renowned for its lush natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. After that, we rode the Vesibussi, which is free with a monthly Föli pass, and you can even take your bike on the water bus.
Villa Järvelä
From Villa Järvelä, you can see Littoistenjärvi. There’s also the Littoistenjärvi Nature Path for hiking and Littois Badstrand, a crowded beach area where you can grill. It can get very busy with many cars parked, making it not the most scenic spot to look at. However, it’s a popular place, and we saw people kayaking as well.

Day Trips from Turku
Kurjenrahka National Park
We visited Kurjenrahka National Park to practice eukonkanto (wife carrying) for our participation this year (July 2024). There are charming summer cottages next to the lake, which added to the experience. At the end of June, we were able to pick some wild blueberries. However, be cautious and stay away from ant hills or mounds where large ants reside; I got a few bites from them. We also saw people swimming and found several great hiking spots.

The Ultimate Guide to Restaurants in Turku
Nobi
My favorite restaurant in Turku! We came here for lunch and paid around €15+ per meal. Much cheaper than dinner, I guess. Our meals were really delicious and looked expensive. Even the place is so posh. Everything is perfect. There's also tea and coffee and chocolates for free. Love this place and highly recommend it!
Restaurant Kuori
Restaurant Kuori (Ravintola Kuori) in Turku offers a delightful dining experience with a good atmosphere. Their Wednesday lunch buffet is reasonably priced at 13.50 euros per person. Conveniently located in front of Nurmi Dao Oriental Food Store, Kuori serves delicious food that I highly recommend, and they also have a great selection of cocktails.
Brahen Kellari
Brahen Kellari offers an upscale dining experience with a posh atmosphere. While dinners are on the expensive side, the lunch menu is reasonably priced. My flounder was 13.50 euros and my husband's pork steak (soft and thin) was 17.90 euros. All meals were delicious and included dessert, coffee/tea, and a starter salad. The restaurant is clean, but a few flies were buzzing around. Unfortunately, the pink dessert wasn't to my taste.
Blanko
Blanko has stolen my heart (and stomach!) It's easily the best restaurant I've been to so far in the city. Their fusion of Eastern and Western flavors is incredible, with delicious dishes at reasonable prices. While they don't have a physical English menu, you can browse it online beforehand. One thing that sets Blanko apart is their unique use of fruits like pineapple and strawberry, adding a special touch to their dishes. The portions are generous, leaving you happily satisfied. A minor suggestion: using plates that don't clash with the color of the food (like green plates with green sauces) could elevate the presentation further. Overall, Blanko is a must-try for any Turku visitor seeking a delightful and flavorful dining experience!
Tintå
Upscale Lunch with Delicious Dishes (But Maybe Skip the Tenderloin). Tintå offers a stylish lunch option in Turku's center. Here's a breakdown based on my recent Tuesday lunch visit:
Daily Changing Menu: Keeps things interesting with fresh, seasonal options.
Delicious Flavors: Overall, the food was very good! My shrimp mango dish had a strong Thai influence and tasted delicious.
Tenderloin Needs Improvement: While the other dishes might be excellent, the tenderloin could be more tender and juicy - it required a lot of chewing.
Friendly Ambience: The restaurant has a similar feel to Blanko next door, offering a casual yet pleasant atmosphere.
Price: At €30 for lunch for two (excluding drinks)
Parking Cost: Be prepared for paid parking nearby (my 40-minute stay cost €2.60).
Nerå
The place was incredibly crowded with a long wait. You can park for free nearby, but only for two hours. Avoid the burrito; it's primarily an overwhelming amount of mushy white rice with a small portion of meat. The steak was okay, probably the cheapest they could find, but it looked fancy. Our lunch for two on Friday came to 31 euros. They offer complimentary chocolate, tea, and coffee, which bumped up Mikko's rating from two to three stars.
Café Pegasus
The buffet was okay, but the warm apple pancakes on Thursday were fantastic. It costs 13.50 euros per person for lunch. You can also visit the Aboa Vetus Ars Nova museum while you're there. The only thing they could improve is cleanliness, as some plates and trays weren't clean.
Nooa
Enjoy stunning Aura River views and delicious food at Nooa, a Turku riverside gem. Their juicy burgers are a win, and the beef sirloin rivals Tintå's (maybe even surpasses it!). While presentation could be fancier, the flavors are fantastic. But the real star is the upstairs dining area - stunning Aura River views create the best ambience in Turku, hands down. Free coffee, tea, or water with your meal and friendly staff top off this hidden gem. Free parking nearby too! Highly recommend!
Bistro
It is a decent buffet restaurant with plenty of options. I would definitely come back. The downside is that parking isn't free. You can park at the bus station, as it is more reasonable and affordable than street parking.
KASVIS-ravintola
The carrot soup was good. The meal costs 12.70 euros without the soup and 14 euros with it. I don't find this very generous; they should just include the soup in the price to make up for the limited choices. In my opinion, Eliksiri offers better options.
They provide two types of bread and offer water and two types of tea, but coffee isn't included in the price. I love their salad dressing. They use some organic ingredients in their dishes. The staff is nice, and overall, it’s a decent vegetarian restaurant. However, it's expensive given the limited choices and the ambiance.
Cup & Pint
On Mondays, all their pizzas cost 12 euros. The ambience is very cozy, and they serve only pizza—no fries, no fried chicken. I like that they use real plants inside. We spent 33 euros on a Monday evening for two pizzas, a glass of wine, and a Coke. Parking is street-side, paid parking.
Thai in Town
This place was busy, but despite the wait, the chicken curry was delicious. Unfortunately, the Pad Thai was a major letdown. As someone who loves Pad Thai, this dish fell short in both appearance and flavor. For the price (almost 18 euros!), it was especially disappointing. The skimpy portion of shrimp (only 4 pieces for an extra 3 euros) added to the dissatisfaction. While the restaurant itself seems decent, I'd strongly recommend skipping the Pad Thai.
Grädda
I went here for lunch; they serve buffet meals. It’s just okay with not many options, but the ambience is nice. It is a bit more expensive than other buffets, costing €14.50 per person with free parking.
Pizzeria 450°C
Hygiene concerns impacted my overall experience at Pizzeria 450°C in Turku. The tables weren't wiped down, and some staff behaviors raised red flags. For instance, I witnessed a staff member wiping his black plastic gloves on the butt part of his pants, and another scratching his hair and face with his bare hands while making pizza with the same hands he touched the pizza dough with. I politely mentioned this to a staff member, but I'm unsure if any action was taken. Given that food safety is paramount, I hope the pizzeria prioritizes stricter hygiene practices for its staff.
The pizzas themselves were decent. The Margherita (15€) is a classic choice, and the gelato (6€) comes in generous scoops with delicious flavors. However, the pastas seemed overpriced (e.g., "Alla Norma" for 18€) and lacked flavor. If you're looking for a solid pizza experience, Pizzeria 450°C might be worth a try, but skip the pasta and head straight for the pizza and gelato! Also be prepared for a potentially busy atmosphere and be sure to manage your expectations for cleanliness.
Restaurant Komppeli
Crave hearty comfort food in Turku? Head to Restaurant Komppeli (Ravintola Komppeli), a local favorite! This spot dishes up delicious à la carte plates for both lunch and dinner.
Helmikahvila
I recently tried the Monday lunch buffet for 13.50 euros per person. While I was disappointed to find only water as a beverage option, I was hoping the food would make up for it. Unfortunately, the selection was quite limited. The pasta was a particular let-down. It tasted more like it was thickened with flour than a creamy sauce. Given the price, I expected a much better quality meal. I wouldn’t recommend it to friends looking for a satisfying lunch experience.
Eliksiiri
Craving fresh and flavorful vegetarian fare in Turku? Look no further than Eliksiiri, a local favorite (and mine too!) This plant-based haven offers a daily selection of delicious salads, heartwarming hot dishes, and refreshing smoothies. Build your own perfect plate or choose from their ready-made options. Using seasonal ingredients, Eliksiiri caters to all dietary needs with a focus on healthy and satisfying meals.
Pancho Villa Turku
Pancho Villa Turku offers menus in both English and Finnish. My lunch, a pork steak, was 13.90 euros, while my husband's Pancho's double burger cost 14.90 euros. Coffee and tea are included in the price. The restaurant is full of character, with vibrant designs and Mexican-themed decor, such as hats used as lamps. Everything was delicious. They even have a kids' area. Pancho Villa has other branches, so check out the one nearest to you.
Göran
This restaurant housed in a historic building near Turku Castle, offers stunning Aura River views. Indulge in fresh, seasonal Finnish seafood dishes alongside other delicacies from the archipelago. Their lunch buffet showcases the bounty of the region, while the à la carte menu caters to various palates. Enjoy a taste of Finland's maritime heritage in a beautiful setting.
Hotel Seaport
€12.30 per person for lunch. Good amount of choices. They should be more well-known. Generous selection, and the burger patty is really good and juicy. You can tell they’re trying to provide quality meals. It made me want to stay at the hotel, not just visit the restaurant.
Lone Star
Visited 11/2/2024. We went here for the Syöviikot and ordered three of their menus (two burgers and one chicken menu), each costing only 12 euros. I recommend asking for the sauce to be served separately from the fried chicken if you order the hot garlic parmesan 15-piece chicken. The staff was friendly, and even though it was busy, we didn’t wait long for seating or to receive our order. You can also watch some NHL games while waiting. We parked at Hansa and walked here. The Pepsi glass was 4.50, and the beer glass was 8.70. For two people, we spent a total of 49.20 euros on a Saturday evening.
Panimoravintola Koulu
Panimoravintola Koulu (Bryggerirestaurang Koulu "Skolan") is housed in a charming former schoolhouse (built in 1889!), offers a unique combination of Finnish cuisine and handcrafted beers. Their lunch buffet lets you savor fresh, seasonal flavors, while the à la carte menu features both hearty classics and innovative creations. Enjoy a delicious meal amidst the historic ambiance of this unique Turku landmark.
Restaurant 3.Linja
Craving high-quality Finnish fare in a stylish setting? Look no further than Restaurant 3.Linja (Kolmas linja)! This Turku favorite offers a delicious lunch buffet showcasing seasonal specialties and Finnish classics. In the evenings, explore their à la carte menu or indulge in their weekend brunch. Enjoy delicious food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere overlooking Turku Harbor.
Restaurant Ruben
We stumbled upon Restaurant Ruben (Ravintola Ruben) in Turku's Kakolanmäki district, and it was a win-win! They have a menu with vegetarian options alongside regular meat dishes. We tried their Thursday lunch for €11.90 - pea soup (they even have a veggie option, how cool is that?) and the most buttery Finnish pancakes ever. My husband enjoyed their lentil patties, and the staff were super friendly the whole time. I wouldn't call it fancy, but Restaurant Ruben has a certain quiet sophistication. Definitely recommend this place!
Teppanyaki Sushi Buffet Mylly
Teppanyaki Sushi Buffet Myllyssä promises a diverse range of sushi and teppanyaki dishes, but my experience was disappointing. Flying flies around the restaurant, bad-tasting sushi rice, and watery sauces made the meal unenjoyable. For 19.90 euros per person on a Friday evening, plus an additional 3.80 for a bottle of soft drink, it wasn’t worth the price. I couldn’t even finish my plate. I recommend trying Buru Teppanyaki instead, where the sauces are flavorful, and the teppanyaki ingredients are of better quality. I won’t be returning or recommending this place.
MorriSon's
This restaurant charges for water, which is disappointing since most if not all of restaurants in Finland offer it for free. Additionally, the meals are quite expensive. We spent over 50 euros for two people. The 25-euro burger was just okay, but they charged an extra 1 euro for mayo without informing us, making the total 26 euros just for the burger alone. The steak was too salty and overcooked, making it inedible. I wouldn't recommend dining here.
Hesburger
Craving a taste of Finnish fast food? Hesburger is your go-to! This Finnish favorite, often compared to McDonald's or Jollibee, offers a wide selection of burgers, fries, and local favorites like the "lihapiirakka" (meat pie). Expect generous portions at budget-friendly prices. With locations scattered across Finland and even venturing abroad, Hesburger is a convenient and satisfying option for a quick bite or a casual meal on the go.
Himalayan Kitchen (Nepalese restaurant)
This review is based on a lunch visit on a Thursday. While the restaurant seemed clean, the overall experience fell flat. Here's why it earned a 1 out of 5 star rating:
Cold and Bland: Everything we ordered was cold and lacked flavor. Even the chicken, supposedly the spiciest dish, was very mild (think level 1-2 on a scale of 5).
Reheated Food: It felt like the food was reheated, not freshly made.
Below Average Naan: Didn't live up to expectations.
Worst Butter Shrimp Ever: Watery and flavorless, definitely not the thick and creamy butter shrimp I was expecting.
Basic Salad: Disappointing salad bar with very basic options and bad salad dressing.
Unfriendly Staff: The lady serving us seemed efficient but lacked warmth.
Overall: Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives for this visit. The limited menu, bland food, and reheated dishes made for an underwhelming experience. I couldn't finish my meal due to the lack of flavor. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant based on this experience. There are likely better options available for tastier and more affordable Indian or Nepali food.
Yasukon Keittiö
Tempted by Turku's taste of Japan? Yasukon Keittiö offers home-style Japanese fare. After living in Japan for 8 years (having explored all prefectures!), my partner and I were curious about this restaurant. While the food was decent ("maamaa" as they say in Japan), it didn't quite capture the magic of authentic Japanese home cooking we experienced elsewhere. In fact, it seemed most dishes were simply reheated in the microwave, which fell short of our expectations. The atmosphere was a bit lacking in warmth, and at €20 per person, it felt a bit pricey for the overall experience. If you're new to Japanese food, it might be worth a try, but those with a deeper appreciation for Japanese cuisine might want to keep exploring Turku's culinary scene.
Buru Teppanyaki
Craving sizzling teppanyaki action? Buru Teppanyaki offers a delicious lunch buffet (around €14.50) with a variety of choices. Watch skilled chefs prepare your food on the teppanyaki grill, or add €1 to enjoy the sushi buffet alongside your meal. Friendly service and a lively atmosphere make Buru Teppanyaki a fun spot for a satisfying lunch. Keep in mind it can be on the louder side, so it might not be ideal for a quiet dining experience.
Little Saturday
Dive into American comfort food with a global twist at Little Saturday! This Turku gem offers brunch classics like pancakes and eggs Benedict alongside delicious burgers and innovative dishes. Enjoy a cozy atmosphere with friendly service, perfect for a relaxed lunch, lively brunch, or casual dinner.
Rioni (Georgian restaurant)
The food at Rioni was mostly good (except for the tough kebab). However, the service significantly impacted our experience. The server's communication style was quite off-putting, using phrases like "as I've said to you" repeatedly and in a way that felt condescending. It seemed like the restaurant had a policy of two main courses per table, which we weren't aware of. We originally ordered their cheese bread (12 euro) and the eggplant starter (10.50 euro) to share with one main course (25 euro), but the server requested that we order two mains. We ended up ordering two mains and the cheese bread without eggplant cold starter and he again used that phrase, "as I've mentioned" since he was insisting we should also get the eggplant cold starter. Things got uncomfortable when we gave honest feedback politely about the food because he asked. We mentioned the kebab being a bit tough, but the waiter's reaction was excessive. He kept insisting on giving us free replacements, even offering another main course or a dessert. We were simply providing honest feedback when he asked, not seeking free food since we're perfectly capable of paying for our meal and didn't want to diminish their offering. After repeatedly declining the free food offers, the server abruptly stated we wouldn't be charged for the kebab anyway and walked away without waiting for our response. He then spoke loudly in Georgian to the kitchen staff after our conversation, which we couldn't understand. We were still in the middle of eating at the time and quite shocked by his behavior. We decided not to argue further and let him handle the situation. He did remove the kebab from the final bill. Interestingly, when we paid the bill, he seemed much friendlier. I even asked if it was wrong to give honest feedback, and while he said he appreciated it, his earlier actions spoke louder. We understand restaurants aren't perfect, and perhaps this is his usual style, but it didn't sit well with us. Overall, decent food but the service issues overshadowed it.
Indian Curry House
Indian Curry House offers a casual Indian dining experience in central Turku. Here's a breakdown based on my recent lunch visit on a Monday:
Ambience: It's a casual restaurant with a basic atmosphere.
Price: Meals start from €13.50, our lunch for two, including one Coke drink, came to €32.
Food: The Butter Chicken was decent, but the Paneer Tikka Masala didn't quite hit the mark for us. Overall, I preferred the curry here to what I had at Himalayan Kitchen. The naan bread was thicker than I like, and the salad was disappointing—basic and lacking creativity, similar to what I found at Himalayan Kitchen. It would be beneficial for them to enhance their salad offerings with more diverse and fresher options. There’s definitely room for improvement in their salads.
Service: The staff was friendly and spoke both Finnish and English.
Parking: Be prepared for paid parking (€1.80 per hour) as there's no free on-site parking.
Teboil restaurant
Looking for a hearty lunch that won't break the bank? Head to Teboil on Rautatehtaankatu 1 in Turku! Don't be fooled by the gas station exterior – they offer a surprisingly delicious all-you-can-eat lunch buffet on weekdays, everything from fresh salads to juicy burgers and hot dogs are all included for just €12.90 per person. Don't forget to end your meal with a slice of traditional Finnish pulla bread and a cup of their delicious coffee (they offer four different types!). Beat the 4 pm closing time and experience a surprisingly delightful lunch at Teboil!
Bar4
Delicious drinks priced at 13 euros each! I absolutely loved the "Raisio Cooler" cocktail, and we also tried the "Kiwi Kardashian" – both had such funny names. I highly recommend this bar, especially for the cocktails. While people often visit Walo for the stunning view, I found the drinks here even better than those at Paradiso, once ranked the best in the world. The bar also offers board games, making it a great spot to relax, especially on weeknights when it's less crowded. On Friday and Saturday evenings, DJs add to the vibrant atmosphere. The cocktails are fantastic, and I’m definitely bringing my friends here next time!
Walo Rooftop Bar
The bar offers good views, but the cocktails are average. The "Romeo and Juliet" had an overly strong sweet syrup taste—I'd advise against ordering it. The "Cherry Blossom" cocktail was just okay. The decor features fake plants everywhere. Overall, you come here for the view, not the cocktails. For a better experience, I recommend heading to Bar4 in Turku.
Malmin Kebab Pizzeria
The staff at Malmin Kebab was talking loudly on the phone while smoking right outside the store, which was unpleasant for non-smoking customers like us. He kept walking back and forth, talking on his phone speaker. We visited at 10:30 PM on May 30th (Thursday) and bought a huge kebab for 15 euros for takeaway. The taste was average.
Tårget
During our lunch on May 31, 2024 the tall male waiter accidentally touched my head while replacing the hot water because he didn't say "excuse me." A little consideration would have been appreciated; he shouldn’t grab the pitcher without acknowledging people in front of it. Each meal cost 16 euros per person. Additionally, they didn't ask how I wanted my steak cooked, and it ended up overcooked.
ABC Koulukatu
We went on a saturday lunch, there were 6 types of pizza which tasted average or below standards, there s one salmon dish, salad etc. softdrinks additional costs 2.50euros. Buffets costs 14.90 per person, a bit expensive
Free coffee and tea, they also have free salmiakki candy
They have a children’s space near the buffet restautrant.
Hansasali
This lunch buffet offers basic options at 12 euros per person, but lacks the variety of some Finnish buffets, like free milk drinks (soft drinks cost extra 1.50 euros). There's a faint, unpleasant kitchen odor upon entering that might deter some (like myself who avoid restaurants with such smells), but it's not overpowering. The sausage soup was a highlight, but overall the experience was just average - neither bad nor particularly good.
Lempilounas Oy
The Monday lunch buffet costs 11.50 euros per person and is conveniently located near Prisma and Kontti. They offer a very good selection of salads. I recommend this place for an affordable lunch, and it's popular with many people. It's one of the best lunch buffets I've been to. However, the Asian staff member could improve by smiling more, as she often appears angry.
Momotoko Turku
I delve into my experience with a "popular" chain that unfortunately sadly missed the mark compared to the vibrant flavors we savored during our eight years living in Shibuya, Tokyo. At €15.50 per bowl, not only was the ramen bland and underwhelming, but it also felt steeply priced. If you're seeking a completely authentic Japanese ramen experience, this may not be the perfect fit. However, Momotoko remains a popular choice for a casual Japanese dining experience in Turku.
Viking Restaurant Harald
Rating: Food: 3/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5
Price: €69.60 for a Saturday lunch for two
Step into Viking Restaurant Harald in Turku, where you're greeted by a bear statue. The spacious, family-friendly restaurant offers dishes with Viking-inspired names like "Shield of Odin" and "Dessert Shield of Frigga". We indulged in the "Blacksmith's Pan" and the "Game Sword of Limmi the Giant", spending 69.60 euros for a Saturday lunch for two, including complimentary chocolates. Though water cost extra, the service was excellent, and the place filled up quickly with bookings throughout the evening.
Café Qwensel
Café Qwensel (Kahvila Qwensel) in Turku is a charming spot to relax after exploring the Pharmacy Museum. We paid 10.90 euros for two drinks and one pie. The rhubarb used is locally sourced, adding a fresh touch. However, my Finnish husband found the pie quite bland, though his taste might be more refined. Despite this, the café's historic ambiance makes it a delightful visit.
Vietnamesisk restaurang Kim Vietnamilainen ravintola Kim
Clean and inviting, with a kind owner. The simple yet delicious Vietnamese dishes make this place a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Lounaskahvila Reivi
Lunch costs 12.50 euros per person. We visited on a Monday. A Pepsi Max is 2.80 euros. Free parking is available.
Leipomo ja konditoria Nurmi & Sulonen Oy Pirjon Pakari Raisio Oy
Lunch is 10.60 euros, which includes a choice of four delicious desserts. There are three types of pasta and a meatball soup, which is the only meat dish available. It would be great if they added more meat options and included fish dishes, as there are none currently. Free coffee and tea are also provided.
Lounaskahvila Tipitii
Lunch costs 11.50 euros per person. The food is good and reasonably priced. The only downside is the presence of many flies around the restaurant, which might be due to the summer season. Additionally, it’s quite unpleasant when people talk in front of the buffet table, as their saliva could potentially drop on the food. On the plus side, free parking is available.
Rantakerttu
The burger buffet costs 17.80 euros per person and is available only on Saturdays. The selection is limited, but my husband enjoyed it because he loves burgers. Since I'm not a fan of burgers, I mostly ate the fried chicken. It may not be worth it if you're not a burger enthusiast.
Lounasravintola Metropol
Lounasravintola Metropol in Turku offers a diverse lunch buffet priced at 13.50 euros, with additional drinks like Coke for 1.50 euros. Known for its extensive selection of dishes, including what many consider the best salad bar in Turku, the restaurant stands out for its efficient staff and clean environment, providing a satisfying dining experience.
Lounasravintola Krookilan Toivo
Lounasravintola Krookilan Toivo, located in Raisio, Finland, offers lunch at 13.20 euros per person. While the atmosphere is pleasant and the view of the windmill is charming, the food selection is limited, and the taste is pretty average.
Turku's Secondhand Stores
Pimee Vintti Oy
This is the most beautiful secondhand shop I’ve ever seen, and I’ve visited many. It feels like a museum. The owner exudes a kind and calm presence. We enjoyed coffee, tea, and pulla here. I found a baking item for only 5 euros. It’s definitely worth the drive, especially if you’re heading to Kurjenrahka National Park and happen to pass by, like we did.

Quite large, I enjoyed my time here and found some great secondhand items. It's conveniently connected to a supermarket that sells relatively inexpensive products, which is a nice bonus.
