City Chef Barbecue (restaurant)
City Chef Barbecue in Vilnius definitely satisfied our craving for smoky goodness! The ribs and burgers were delicious, perfectly capturing the essence of BBQ with their oak-smoked magic. Burgers came with fries and a killer smoked paprika mayo for an extra kick. The vibe was casual, and the prices were reasonable.
Just a heads up: When it came time to pay, we were directly asked if we wanted to leave a tip. While we're happy givers and we even donate to worthy causes (like churches, even though we're not religious!). However, being directly prompted felt a little awkward.
Despite that, the food and service were great, so definitely check it out if you're in Vilnius and craving some BBQ!

Thankfully, the university offers free access to a dedicated space for visitors, and we were lucky enough to explore the stunning library. The architectural details were breathtaking, and the atmosphere crackled with academic energy. A must-see for anyone wanting a glimpse into Lithuanian history and education!

Vilnius blends old and new seamlessly, and Panorama Shopping Mall is a prime example. This contemporary mall boasts a variety of shops, from high-street brands to local boutiques. Grab a coffee and people-watch, or catch a movie at the multiplex cinema. Conveniently located near the Old Town, Panorama offers a modern retail experience with a touch of history - its rooftop terrace features stunning views of the Gediminas' Tower and Vilnius Cathedral.
Curonian Spit National Park
We took a day trip to Curonian Spit National Park by ferry (Google maps: New Ferry Terminal, Klaipėda). The ferry ride cost 20.50 euros for our car, or 1.50 euros per person without a car. We explored 11 incredible spots within the park, including the majestic Parnidis Dune. This UNESCO World Heritage Site stretches like a sandy finger into the Baltic Sea, offering a paradise for nature lovers. Our day culminated in a breathtaking sunset at Smiltynės Beach before catching the 7 pm ferry back. It was a fun-filled day packed with unforgettable sights!

This original Bologoe-type medium fishing trawler, the only one of its kind left, offers a glimpse into Lithuania's commercial fishing past. Be amazed by its size and imagine the crew braving the seas to bring back bounty from the depths.
Sound Catcher
What a treat our Easter Sunday visit to Sound Catcher turned out to be! The place was bursting with incredible Easter decorations – a vibrant explosion of colors that truly amazed us. It felt like a feast for the eyes!
Even better, admission is free, and they only accept donations, which we were happy to contribute. We truly appreciate their creativity and willingness to share the beauty with everyone who visits. But Sound Catcher offers more! Climb inside their wooden sculpture and be enveloped by a symphony of nature's sounds – the perfect park break!

From playful devils to wise witches, these creations bring the park's rich storytelling tradition to life. It's a free and fascinating stop for visitors of all ages.
Parnidis Dune
Ascend the majestic Parnidis Dune, the Curonian Spit's crowning glory! This 52-meter giant rewards climbers with breathtaking panoramic views of the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. Don't forget to snap a photo next to the thought-provoking "Against the Wind" sculpture and test your skills deciphering the giant sundial. It's a challenging climb, but the reward is unforgettable! By the way, we paid an additional 5 euros to drive on the toll road to get here in March. (Note: March is typically before the busy season, so prices may vary depending on the time of year you visit.)

Affordable Stay with complimentary breakfast that exceeded our expectations
Steeped in history, this hotel offers a charming 3-star stay just outside the city's Old Town. Unwind in a comfortable, modern room after exploring Klaipėda's sights, all within walking distance. Built in the 1800s, the hotel boasts a modern feel. It offers everything you need, including free bottled water, room slippers, and tissue boxes – amenities often missing even in some 4-star hotels. Free parking is also available. The staff was very nice. The hotel was clean and odor-free. The only drawback is that the windows don't fully close, which can lead to noise disturbance in the mornings. Otherwise, it's a perfect place to stay.
